What if I told you...

...that there’s one small habit that can
boost your mood
improve your sleep &
strengthen your immune system?
(and soooo much more) Oh, and that it’s FREE and takes only a couple of minutes per day... It’s not a magic pill or a wellness ‘trend’...
It has been around for thousands of years, has heaps of scientific support.
Yes, you guessed it...it's Practicing Gratitude. Noticing & appreciating the
GOOD stuff in life. Not ignoring life’s challenges, or pretending that everything is perfect. But seeking out the pockets of positivity which exist alongside the tricky ones.
Gratitude isn’t new; in fact, it’s been seen as a cornerstone of wellbeing for thousands of years. Ancient philosophers like Cicero called it “the parent of all virtues.” Many spiritual and religious traditions (Buddhism, Hinduism, Christianity, Islam) have incorporated daily thanks as a way to nurture peace, compassion, and connection. What’s new is the science. In the past 25–30 years, psychologists and neuroscientists have begun to measure gratitude’s impact, proving what humans have instinctively known for millennia: that pausing to notice and appreciate the good in our lives can transform the way we feel, think, and relate to others.
Why it works: Our brains have a “negativity bias,” meaning they’re naturally wired to focus more on problems than positives (thanks, evolution). Gratitude helps retrain the brain to also notice the good, balancing out that bias. And it also...
Increases activity in the brain’s reward pathways
Boosts feel-good chemicals like dopamine and serotonin
Lowers the stress hormone cortisol
Strengthens neural pathways linked to positive thinking
Improves sleep
Lowers blood pressure
Strengthens your IMMUNE SYSTEM. Isn't this AMAZING? And it only takes 5 mins and doesn't cost a penny. How to start? Keep it simple. Keep a notebook by your bed, and every night, write down 3 things you’re grateful for. (They don’t have to be big - a good cup of coffee very much counts.) And see how you feel!
That’s it. Pretty quickly you’ll find yourself noticing more and more positives, or ‘glimmers’ each day. In a world where there is so much fear, conflict, and uncertainty, let’s seek out and hang on to as many moments of joy, kindness and wonder as we can each day.
